More info

In this installment of our Computer Training series we are talking about best practices for using the internet.

This includes such things as browsers (i.e. Internet Exporer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.). There's a bunch of them. Which is the best? Safest? Which one do I use? I'll show you how I use the internet and how to set up your browsers for easy use. I'll show you how to get into the setting and how to adjust all the most important settings. We'll demonstrate home pages for your browsers and how to set them up, use them and how to toggle back and forth between them easily.

We'll also show to use your address bar and search box safely so you don't end up seeing things you really wish you hadn't. We'll explore search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. There is a million of them. Which are best? Why use one over the other? What are the different functions of each?

We'll also talk about browser privacy and how to get better privacy while on the internet since so many browsers watch what you are doing while you are online. We'll talk about what this all means to you and how it works and give you advice on how to achieve the best privacy for your internet use.

Social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Linkedin, etc.) also have potential for spying and viruses and so we're going to talk about how to protect yourself so you can enjoy your social media safely and avoid the viruses so common with 3rd party advertisements.

Plus, we'll do tips and tricks so you get the most out of your internet experience. Join us for this training!
